Wellness Girl Yogurt Clusters (High Protein)

Why Yogurt Clusters Are the Snack Everyone’s Loving

I know you’re done seeing them yogurt clusters so many times by now but not so fast yet! I get the fad, because I mean, who doesn’t like frozen desserts that resemble ice cream but is actually healthier for you?! I mean, if you on a wellness journey and all. But the problem is the way I seen them made. I don’t think they that great because yogurt when frozen can get very icy instead of creamy. So I had to change it up quite a bit for me because I actually want something that’s gonna resemble that smooth creamy sweet ice cream that we know and love.

The Problem with Frozen Yogurt Snacks (And How I Fixed It)

Now, girl, I did something that you might not think to add to it, but here’s what it is…. Cream cheese. Not just any cream cheese thought you want full fat cream cheese because that is what is going to mimic that creaminess that we love from ice cream.  I mean when I’m laid up and it’s one of those late nights craving a little snack and say it’s either one of those hot summer nights and you wanna cool down or it’s one of them winter nights and you want to get cozy (where we know a lot of people end up putting on pounds because it’s like let me just enjoy myself, no shade, baby girl we all been there) so this is perfect for that. Just take a moment to imagine it now taking a bite through it almost like a ice cream popsicle and it just have that hard shell and when you get to the middle, it’s smooth creamy thick melt in your mouth. Goodness yeah that’s what this is.

High Protein & Full- Fat Goodness = Balance Goals

Yogurt Clusters are great in so many ways because it is high in protein! I used FULL FAT Greek yogurt when making mine. You might be tempted to go with low-fat or non-fat Greek yogurt and cream cheese, but let me just stop you right there Sis put it down and get you the Full Fat. Here is why, you don’t want to skim on the fat, good healthy fats are great for your body (even for your weight-loss or gain journey). Plus, a lot of times we shy away from fats because we’re like, oh we wanna lose pounds but healthy fats are amazing for curving your appetite and boosting fullness. As well, I used agave which is also good white sugar replacement that gives you that sweetness that you want without overpowering the other flavors . I personally wouldn’t use maple syrup because of the strong flavor profile unless I’m doing a certain flavor like chocolate or peanut butter but to each their own.

The Ultimate Chill: Protein- Packed Greek Yogurt Clusters

Satisfy your sweet tooth with these protein-packed yogurt clusters, made extra creamy with cream cheese. From colorful rainbow sprinkles to warm gingersnap flavor. These are perfect for a quick protein dessert boost.

Kid- Friendly (Yes, You Can Share!)

Don’t just keep this to yourself Sis, you can feed this to your kids, too! Believe you me they will enjoy it and might be a way to get them away from the overly sugary sweets that you’ve might been tussling with them on ha ha šŸ˜‚. It’s iight, boo, if you were a 90s baby like me or younger, you know most of us grew up on Ben & Jerry’s, ice cream sandwiches, and you know it was never frowned upon, it was in most households. But now so many things change, sniffles. Now, I won’t tell you to stop eating that altogether a little sweet goodness here and there never hurt nobody it’s all about the balance baby girl.

Easy Swaps and Add-Ins

Yogurt Clusters are very customizable, with the addition of any toppings you desire. Try some Cookie Dough, Chocolate Chips, Oreos, have it your way, have fun with it!!!

Swaps

  • Swap whipped cream cheese: Use regular cream cheese but the results will vary, whipped cream cheese has stabilizers (guar gum, carob bean gum) which helps prevent crystallization when freezing

  • Swap agave: Use honey, add 1tbsp more (melt a little before adding into the mix will help incorporate better into the mixture but make sure its lukewarm)

Add-Ins

  • Add Biscoff Cookie Spread: For more fun base flavor, 1 -1 1/2 TBSP (will also help with crystallization)

  • Add Heavy Whipping Cream: For more creamier texture, 2 TBSP and whip it separately either by hand (good muscle workout haha) or hand mixer then fold into the rest of the batter

Common Questions

  • Move along nah joking, try using just heavy whipping cream to replace the amount of cream cheese and comment below your results with pictures Sis!

  • Honestly not 100% sure though I have eaten vegan cream cheese before the ingredients vary. Here is my recommendation… Use Coconut Yogurt because of the high fat content but strain any liquid from it and use vegan cream cheese from brands such as Violife or Philadelphia then add your mix-ins. They already have stabilizers so that should help with the crystallization just the same even add a tbsp of pudding mix to help more and come back with the results! Sharing is Caring
